In May 2014, Glasgow 2014 became the first Commonwealth Games to achieve certification to ISO 20121: Event Sustainability Management Systems.

Heather Donald was the Glasgow 2014 Sustainability Coordinator and she has put together a sustainability report featuring a snapshot perspective of their progress in relation to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Event Organizers Sector Supplement.
